1:45am we landed in San Jose. Kathryn was not waiting for me at the airport, and I certainly didn't expect her to be.
3:27am
Kris and Lori talked to the cabbies and got a group rate of $8 per person to drive us each to our respective locations in San Jose. Dropped off Lori, then Kris, then me at this Best Western in downtown San Jose. I was nervous that it might actually not be the right hotel (did Kathryn say "Best Western"? Is it this Best Western??) but it was correct and I am so thankful to all my angels for getting me here safely. I thank Kathryn for making the reservations for this first night, and thank Kris and Lori for connecting with me and getting me to the right place.
Arrived and hugged and briefed Kathryn on the story. Where will we go tomorrow??
7:49am we stayed up a bit last night and made plans to go to Volcano Arenal, just north of Monteverde today. I'm about to shower then we'll eat then go.
From the balcony of our hotel, I took some pictures. So amazing to see the huge dichotomy between the rich and poor. Shabby old houses right next to the huge hotel. Like 10 feet away. Look at the "down" picture:Looking out toward the left we saw these houses.
Straight forward was this street.
A bit toward the right was The Childrens' Museum and a closeup of the letters.
I took a pic looking straight down. Notice the Best Western umbrella.
