I bought these shoes after I saw Jason with a pair before they were crazy popular.

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007Is it all over for Nova? | The Japan Times Online
Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007A nightmare even worse than bankruptcy for Nova staff and students would be if the corporation soldiered on after all hope was lost, said Carlet.
“If they don’t officially go bankrupt that means the teachers won’t be dismissed, they just won’t be paid, and if they resign they’d have to wait three months (for unemployment insurance), and if they don’t resign we have to prove that it’s effectively a bankruptcy, which takes time, so either way they’re in serious trouble if Nova doesn’t officially go bankrupt.”

The above scenario seems very likely in Japanese culture. Basically problems are ignored as Somebody Else’s Problem or shoganai, meaning nothing can be done.
I’m so glad I got out of Nova years ago.

A Muslim Astronaut’s Dilemma: How to Face Mecca From Space
Wednesday, October 10th, 2007Questions like these will continue as more and more religious astronauts travel into space. When is sunset in low Earth orbit if you’re experiencing a dozen sunrises and sunsets in every 24-hour period? When does Sabbath begin on the moon, where the sun sets once a month? When is the first sighting of the crescent moon if you’re on Mars? Religious councils of all faiths will have plenty to keep them busy for years.

Yes, I realize I have used the term “week” in my religion, but I’m going to go change it right now! Hahahahaha! Relax your rules, silly religions!

Virgin Galactic Preps for Liftoff at World’s First Commercial Spaceport
Tight. I’ve always enjoyed reading articles about astronomy and wanted to be an astro-physicist (actually just wanted my name in Discover Magazine)… I’m glad that soon we’ll be able to fly so high…

Geologists recover rocks yielding unprecedented insights into San Andreas Fault
Friday, October 5th, 2007Sensitive seismometers and tiltmeters to be installed in the SAFOD borehole directly above the spot that ruptures will observe for the first time the birthing process of an earthquake from the zone where the earthquake energy accumulates. Preliminary observations made in 2006 already have revealed the tiniest earthquakes ever observed—so small they have negative magnitudes.

I love this kinda thing when science is measuring the super-small. Negative magnitudes. hahaha!
